The Gen X Files is a 20-page booklet that gives an overview of Generation X, born between 1965-1979. This booklet explores Gen X’s personality, workplace influence, and views on parenting the next two generations (younger Millenials and Gen Z).

The Gen X Files

Infographic and Book Design

The Moodboard

Gen X Moodboard

This moodboard captures the essence of Gen X. It’s authentic, accurate, and even a bit jaded in its scope. They were loners, realists, and mostly forgotten by their parents and other adults.

The Sketches

Gen X Infographic Sketches

I created the sketches for the infographic before I began constructing the layout of the booklet. It was important to me to showcase Gen X’s personality using a combination of graphics and statistics.

Reflection

This booklet was created for my fellow Gen X’ers and those who want insight into the personality of “The Latchkey Generation,” the generation sandwiched between the Boomers and the Millenials. Of all my projects, this one is nearest and dearest to my heart. The Gen X story is my story.

A hardbound, printed version of this book is available for viewing. Should we ever meet face-to-face, I’m happy to share it with you.
